Cleaning materials: PC regrind material (for high temperature use), PP (for low temperature use), PMMA regrind material, PE or cleaning agent.

Cleaning timing:

  1. Before changing colors or switching to different types of raw materials.

  2. When the previous color powder residue in the pipe is not cleaned properly.

  3. When there are many carbides (black spots) in the molded products. When cleaning the previous color powder residue in the pipe:

  4. Increase the temperature of the color powder injection by 10-20°C because the remaining color powder needs to be hotter than the plastic temperature to blend in. Stop cooling the feed inlet with cooling water.

  5. Increase the temperature control point at the cooling part of the feed inlet by 10°C-20°C. Color powder is sticky and tends to get stuck in the screw groove.

  6. Use PMMA regrind material, set the temperature of the front section to 260 degrees, and perform 5-8 purge/filling cleaning cycles.

  7. Or use PC regrind material, set the temperature to 290-300 degrees, and perform 5-8 purge/filling cleaning cycles.

  8. After cleaning the material pipe, remove the nozzle, use a blowtorch to clean the nozzle, and then harden it by soaking it in water.

When cleaning PA (PA6), HDPE or PP cleaning materials can be used, and the temperature should be set at 240-250 degrees.

When cleaning PA66, PC regrind material can be used, and the temperature should be set at 300-320 degrees.

Points to note for cleaning material pipes:

  1. The temperature of the pipe when using the cleaning material should be slightly higher (about 10-20 degrees) than the operating temperature of the raw material pipe.
  2. The cleaning material should not be dried, as it may create bubbles inside the pipe and increase friction.
  3. When cleaning the material pipe, the back pressure value should be reduced, but not lowered to 0 (set the back pressure to around 2-3).
  4. Set the travel distance of the filling process to about 80-100mm.
  5. Each ejected material block must be immediately flattened by hand and placed on the tabletop for cooling.
  6. When there is no place left on the tabletop to put the cooled flattened material blocks after 5-6 shots, immediately collect the cooled flattened material blocks in an empty material bag.
  7. Repeat this process until the material pipe is thoroughly cleaned, and clean the remaining material blocks on the tabletop after cooling.
  8. Do not leave the material blocks on the ground to cool to avoid contaminating the raw materials.
  9. For cleaning black spots, PMMA regrind material or PC regrind material can be used. Increase the temperature slightly and perform purge/filling cleaning actions.
  10. When there are no obvious black spots in the purged plastic, completely purge the remaining material in the pipe, then cool down to the temperature for changing the raw material, and start production with the new material.
  11. When using PP or PE cleaning materials, the residual cleaning material in the pipe must be completely purged before adding the new raw material; otherwise, there may be contamination.
  12. When cleaning PVC color powder material pipes, PMMA regrind material or PP material can be used for cleaning.
